Aftercare Advice
Your artist will always advise what is best for you. These guides cover the three main aftercare methods we use at Envy Tattoo Studio.
Tattoo Aftercare
Your Artist Will Always Advise What is Best For You
What to Expect
- A new tattoo is an open wound. Treat it carefully.
- Soreness, redness, or mild swelling is normal.
First 24–48 Hours
- Keep covered with film/dressing as advised.
- Wash hands before touching tattoo.
- Clean gently with mild soap and lukewarm water. Pat dry.
- Apply a thin layer of recommended cream.
While Healing (Up to 2 Weeks)
- No swimming, baths, hot tubs, saunas, or sunbeds.
- Avoid picking or scratching. Scabs must fall off naturally.
- Wear loose clothing to prevent rubbing.
Get Help If
- Area becomes very red, swollen, painful, oozing, or shows infection.
- Contact us or your GP if unsure.

Secondary Skincare
What it Does
- Protects the tattoo, keeps dirt and bacteria out.
- Lets oxygen in while locking moisture in.
How to Use
- Apply only to clean, dry skin.
- First piece can stay on for up to 24 hours (change sooner if leaking).
- Replace with fresh film every 1–2 days for up to 7 days.
While Wearing Film
- If film becomes loose or full of fluid, replace.
- To remove: soak with warm water, peel gently, wash with mild soap.
Get Help If
- Skin under film becomes very painful, blistered, or infected.
- Contact us or your GP if concerned.
This method is for aftercare issues only, general enquiries sent this way will not be responded to.
